The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan held a working meeting with the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Harutyunyan. The problems associated with the greatest accessibility of justice and the judicial system for individuals were discussed. The fundamental rights and freedoms of a man/woman and citizen are directly applicable rights, this constitutional provision will receive a full-fledged application in real life. The guarantor of this should be the court. Meanwhile, in this regard, the judicial system has problems requiring immediate resolution. Complaints addressed to the Ombudsman show that there is a need to eliminate uncertainty about the means of effective protection of human rights. In the conditions of non-interference in specific court cases, even the activities of the Human Rights Defender testify that the problems of human rights protection are in many cases caused by insufficient flexibility of the judicial procedures. The Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, in his turn, stressed the importance of building trust in justice and institutional reform of the judicial system. Gagik Harutyunyan presented those initiatives and programmes that are aimed at effectively guaranteeing rights in the judicial system. As a result of the discussion, it was decided to combine efforts to improve the judicial system and ensure the accessibility of justice.
