A few days ago, Karen Karapetyan, on his Facebook page, highlighted the public opinion in the selection of the "Noy" ethnographic district project. The Prime Minister also noted that that project would raise the tourist attractiveness of our city and country. The "Alternative Projects Group", responding to the Prime Minister's suggestion, believes that the project of the ethnographic district is interesting both in terms of attractiveness of tourism, and for investing in our country and creating new jobs. At the same time, the Alternative Project Group finds that the district should be built outside of Yerevan. Yerevan is over-centralized, whereas, regions get empty. This project can be successfully implemented outside of Yerevan, in small and medium towns and in rural communities. Exactly where should it be? This is another matter of discussion. Armenia is a small country, and half an hour away from Yerevan is insignificant for tourists. In case of building out of the city, other related businesses will be activated by the effect of animation, organizing convenient transport to Noy village, organizing interesting bus stops on the road, providing employment opportunities for locals in the neighborhood and, finally, normal connection settlements around the ethnographic district of Noy. All this will allow you to enliven life in any region. "Noy" can be built on the way to any valuable monument in the neighborhood. They are many in Armenia, which are often in poor conditions. If we attach importance to the prospect of religious tourism in Armenia, this is a good opportunity to bring liveliness to the area adjacent to any monument, to repair roads, and to improve the environment. It is possible to create music groups from the schoolchildren from neighboring villages, to present spiritual and ethnographic songs in "Noy" district, and in general, to involve rural youth and local specialists. A lot of European small cities and villages have evolved and developed this way. After all, each region should have a solution - a know-how. Let's also look at this question from this point of view. As for raising the tourist attractiveness of Yerevan, its key is somewhere else. We have spoken about it in the publication "Tourism: the need for reasonable decisions". Yerevan's tourism content should be created. Today our city does not have it. The most important historical center of Yerevan, the Erebuni fortress, the museum, has no organic connection with the modern city. You should think about creating an interesting, thought-provoking road, from the busy part of the city to the museum, wirth trams, ropeways, etc. Prior to that, the city signs, street names and building addresses should be sorted. The tourist is getting lost in Yerevan. It is necessary to finally solve the problem of transport of the capital in a systematic way.   Summarizing: we suggest to build "Noy" in any region, and start discussions on the tourism attractiveness of Yerevan.
