The first court hearing into the case of Judge Ishkhan Barseghyan, who is accused of taking bribe, was held today. To remind, Ishkhan Barseghyan, Judge of the Court of First Instance of Yerevan’s Shengavit administrative district, was arrested in a pedestrian underpass in Yerevan the moment he was taking $1000 from a citizen after he agreed to rule in their favour. According to the Criminal Code Article 311, Part 4, he may be sentenced to 7-12 years’ imprisonment. “A1+” hosted human rights activist Zhanna Aleksanyan. Is all this fight against corruption or is it a regular PR step?
