Three percent growth in economic activity has been registered in January-July of this year compared to the same period of last year. According to the assessment of economist Bagrat Asatryan, for the countries like Armenia 3 percent economic activity growth isn’t enough and doesn’t mean anything, as that growth doesn’t influence the living standards of the population. The fall in the indicators in the construction sphere also proves that economy doesn’t develop in Armenia; that process continues for several years. Yet, according to the economist, construction is an indicator of economic activity; if there is development, the construction also grows. “The life is freezing; we have indicators, which can prove it, in particular, investments have decreased, in essence, they have equaled to zero. No one is interested in making investments in Armenia. During the recent years private transfers are also indicators of economic activity, and they are also decreasing and decreasing essentially. In our case it is decisive for a number of sectors- finances, bank sector,” said B. Asatryan. To note, the growth in economic activity indicator is also conditioned by growth in industry and agriculture.
