Even letters did not persuade Nikol Pashinyan to return to Khorenatsi Street (video)
Armenian lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan has left a Facebook post saying he has received a hundred letters in which the authors urge, demand or request him to return to Khorenatsi Street where a police station has been occupied by anti-government gunman since July 17. “In the meantime, some people in social networks try to imitate that I am offended by something or something. I was sorry to hear similar comments after the press conference I gave yesterday. The issue is much more serious. “Yesterday I said that the members of the Sasna Dzrer group think that there are some ‘authorized’ persons who can lead their supporters [on Khorenatsi Street] more effectively and give people more precise and more effective instructions whereas my actions do not proceed from the interests of effective management of the situation. His means that my efforts on Khorenatsi Street will always been compared with those of the group’s authorized representatives and every time I shall be put before a difficult choice, doing useless work. And whenever I try to prevent their obviously hasty steps, Sasna Dzrer will make new statements and comments making my participation in the process senseless. I do not want to blame Sasna Dzrer group members because they may not possess full information about the situation but unless the problem is solved and the legitimacy of my efforts to ensure the safety of the people are recognized and admitted by the group, I find my presence in Khorenatsi Street meaningless,” Pashinyan said.
