Vahan Shirkhanyan had pulmonary infarction
Health condition of former Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia, Vahan Shirkhanyan, remains serious. “Shirkhanyan had another pulmonary infarction. Fortunately, it did not have serious consequences,” his lawyer, Stepan Voskanyan, told A1+ The lawyer is concerned about the health of the former official and says he has had a high temperature since his arrest. The lawyer has forwarded the documents with the diagnosis to the Institute of Surgery after Mikaelyan to determine whether there is a need for re-examination or not. Upon receiving a positive response, the lawyer will apply to the investigative body or the prison administration with the request to transfer his client to the centre. Vahan Shirkhanyan was detained on December 21, 2015, on suspicion of aiding a criminal gang led by Artur Vardanyan. While in prison, he underwent minor surgery on his left foot.
