Shots fired toward the Armenian positions

On April 22-23 overnight in the northeastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border 8 cases of ceasefire violation were registered. The Azerbaijani side fired sporadic shots from different caliber rifle and sniper weapons toward the Armenian positions. In addition to rifle weapons, 60 mm mortar (2 shells) was also used. The RA AF vanguard units, displaying restraint, took retaliatory actions only in case of strict necessity and confidently keep the border situation under control. According to the operative data of the NKR DA, the operative situation at the Line of Contact between the Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops remained unchanged on April 22-23 overnight, with the Azerbaijani side committing about 65 violations. According to Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Ministry, Azerbaijan continued to violate the verbal agreement on ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone at night. Besides using firearms of different calibers, Azerbaijani troops also fired in the northeastern direction (Martakert) from 60 mm mortar (2 shells), RPG-7 (2 shots), HAN-17 (13 shells) grenade launchers and ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft twin-barreled autocannon (15 shells).
