Sporadic shots on Armenian-Azerbaijani border
On April 20-21 overnight in the northeastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border 16 cases of ceasefire violation were registered. The Azerbaijani side fired sporadic shots from different caliber rifle and sniper weapons toward the Armenian positions. The RA Armed forces’ vanguard units, displaying restraint, took retaliatory actions in case of strict necessity and confidently keep the border situation under control. Press service of the Ministry of Defense of the NKR informs on April 20-21 overnight the operative situation on the Contact Line between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan remained unchanged. The adversary violated the ceasefire more than 70 times firing from weapons of different caliber along the entire front line. More intensive violations were registered in the southeastern (Hadrut), eastern (Akna) and northeastern (Martakert) directions. In addition to the rifle weapons in the northeastern direction the adversary also used 60 mm mortar (2 shells) and HAN-17 grenade launcher (2 shells).
