Ministry says there are snowy and icy roads in Armenia
Armenia's Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergencies says roadways in the country are mainly trafficable as of January 8. However, Berd-Chambarak, Madina-Lernahovit, Lernahovit-Gheghhovit roadways and Vardenyats mountain pass are close. There is black ice on Goris-Sisian (10-15 km) and Sisian-Zanger highways. Sotk-Karvachar and Verin-Getashen-Madina roadways are heavy-going. Snow cleaning activities continue across the republic. Drivers are recommended to avoid taking the above motorways and use only winter tyres. Georgian Interior Ministry's Emergencies Department reports that Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed to all types of vehicles.
