Water is not fuel, says lawmaker
The National Assembly continues debating the bill on introducing f amendments to the RA Water Code. “If the main resource in the neighbouring countries is oil or gas, in Armenia that resource is drinking water,” lawmaker Hovhannes Margaryan said. “There was a time when people in Armenia used to say our Nairit, our water, our Sevan. Today, nothing is left from Nairit. Everything is ruined. They say “the water of our homeland!” but today no citizen of this country can afford to buy the once giant plant. One liter of water is equivalent to one dollar but this is neither fuel nor gasoline. How could we demonstrate such a careless attitude?” he said.
