No camp addresses people, calls everybody to participate in campaign rallies
The referendum on the draft constitution scheduled for December 6 will determine whether Serzh Sargsyan will be able to stay in power as an autocratic leader or he will be forced to leave, opening the prospect of democratic development of Armenia, the headquarters of the No front campaigning against the draft constitution said in an appeal addressed to Armenian citizens. “Campaigning in constitutional referendum officially starts from November 6. Although majority of people oppose the constitutional reform, the campaigns of the Yes and No camps has started off on an unequal footing. All channels supporting Serzh Sargsyan’s administration, the capital taken away from people and all forms of form of electoral fraud will be used to ensure Sargsyan’s reproduction. Our primary task is to eliminate the mechanism of electoral fraud and create a counterweight to the aforesaid illegal advantages. Our struggle should really become national. We plan to organize an active campaign, disseminating printed materials, visiting regions and using paid airtime on television. To this aim, we need the support of the entire nation. You can transfer money to the account of the No front (103005000015) opened in the Central Bank from any banking subsidiary in Armenia and abroad. This pan-national movement aimed at unseating the Sargsyan administration needs the support of any citizen and we appreciate all types of donation regardless of the amount of money,” the No camp said in the statement. They also call on all citizens to participate in the rallies to be organized by No camp. The first rally is scheduled for October 30 at Liberty Square in Yerevan. “The constitutional referendum created a serious opportunity for Armenian people to get rid of the acting authorities and create a truly free, democratic and prosperous country,” reads the appeal.
