“Inflation will be inevitable” (video)
4-5 % inflation is expected because of electricity price hike, today announced Gagik Makaryan, President of Republican Union of Employers of Armenia. “There is a proverb, that the stick has two ends, there are two problems. If it wants to do inflation, it may be left out of the market, as today in the market the competition between the supermarkets is very strong, if it doesn’t do, it is sentenced to leave,” noted Gagik Makaryan. He welcomes the idea of holding an audit at “Armenian Electric Networks”. But he notes that besides the financial audit technical audit must also be held in order to find out the level of the development of the system, where the main losses are, what kind of repairs and investments it needs, what has happened until today. Gagik Makaryan says the whole world passed to the new technologies and the ENA has fallen behind for a century and significant investments haven’t been done, “There are transformers and fuses of 50s-60s, which make much noise.”
