Serzh Sargsyan congratulates Yazidi community on Malake Taus
Serzh Sargsyan has issued a congratulatory message to the Yazidi community of Armenia on the occasion of Malake Taus, the Yazidi New Year. "Dear representatives of the Yazidi community of Armenia, “I cordially congratulate you on New Year – Malake Taus. “The sincere friendship between the Armenian and Yazidi peoples has [for a long time] passed the test of a joint fight against general calamities and has been strengthened with peaceful, creative work and shared achievements. “The past year was difficult for numerous Yazidis living in the Middle East, and they still continue to experience hardships and ordeals. Be confident that we stand beside you in this difficult situation and you can expect our support in the future. “Malake Taus brings with it new hopes and dreams, therefore I wish peace and safety to our region in New Year. Let severe hardships remain in the past. “Happy New Year and all the best to you, dear Yazidi compatriots,” reads the message.
