Vladimir Akopian left without prize
Armenian chess player Vladimir Akopian performed unsuccessfully at the Qatar Masters 2014. At the final round held on December 4, the Armenian Grandmaster lost to Anish Giri of Netherlands. Yu Yangyi of China became the winner of the tournament after beating the tournament leader Vladimir Kramnik.
