Armenia should pay attention to Azerbaijan’s stance in connection the trial of the Azerbaijani saboteurs in Karabakh, says expert on Azerbaijan Sargis Asatryan. Azerbaijan says that two Azerbaijanis are being tried in their own lands captured by rebels which is a violation of international norms, hence cannot remain unpunished. “They are trying to convince the world that Karabakh is a free zone for them and they can enter the territory whenever they want. In response to Azerbaijan’s announcements Armenia says it is quite normal; such statements are not novelty for us,” said Sargis Asatryan. He also calls attention to the fact that milder assessments, better to say, pent-up assessments, were heard after the latest meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Discussions in Armenian and Azerbaijani media were relatively weak and passive. Speaking about the activities of the ISIS terror group, the expert said Azerbaijan might become its next target. “Their next action could be targeted against the Aliyev administration. The most dangerous is that the group is unpredictable and one can never guess their next steps. They easily cut off the heads, strangle people and subject them to violence keeping people in constant fear,” he said predicting unpredictable consequences for Armenia as well. “If it is possible to sit down at the negotiating table with Aliyev and discuss the situation, in case of the terror group it is simply impossible as you can never know what they plan to do next,” he concluded.
