Armenia’s accession to EEU threatens IT sector
Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union threatens the IT sector in the country. One of the founding countries of the CU, Russia, can no longer import hi-tech equipment from Europe and America because of US-led sanctions. Karen Vardanyan, Executive director at Union of Information Technology Enterprises, thinks that Armenia can, with its high-quality services, force European countries to use our services. “Belarus, another member of the EEU, today cooperates with leading U.S. companies which have their branches in Belarus. In a short period of time, Belarus was able to appear in the list of top 20 countries that provide innovative products and services,” he said.
