The UNSD(Union of National Self-Determination) leader insists that September 21 should not be celebrated as the Independence Day. "It has no direct connection with independence, it was a measure of self-determination," says Paruyr Hayrikyan. Like every year, Paruyr Hayrikyan's September 21 press conference is in the open air, in the Republic Square. He considers indipendence as the biggest achievemnt of our country. The UNSD leader cannot forget the failures. " Yes, we built the army, we have our Constitution. But the army is imperfect, we do not have a reserve. The three constitutions were adopted by the order of the current presidents. This is the biggest disgrace." He thinks the greatest shame is the retreat from European values."Our people are removed from our values. The shameful act of civilization took place in 2013. In September, Armenia was isolated from the civilized world by the so-called EAEU disgrace," says Paruyr Hayrikyan. On September 21, 1991, more than 99% of the referendum participants said "yes" to the dream of the Armenian people to have an independent, free and sovereign state. However, most of our citizens did not dream of such independence. Unlike adults, young people are more positive. "Indipendence is the best value for me and my pears. We could not survive without being independent. I think that my generation will create the greatest Armenia, where all Armenians will want to live in," says 17-year-old Aram Poladyan.
