Best athlete 2011 of Armenia, Greco-Roman style wrestler Roman Amoyan declared today during the press conference that he is quitting big sports. “Any professional athlete reaches a point in his life, when he has to end his career. The athlete understands that his body doesn’t obey him, victories become difficult to gain, you are not able to train with former strength and efforts and take part in the championships. I think I have made my decision in right time,” explained the wrestler. 34-year-old athlete still doesn’t know what he will do in the future and he even doesn’t think about a career of a coach. “I want to have a good rest and provide much time to my family and children, which I wasn’t able to do during the years of my wresting career. Time will show what I will do, but still I cannot see myself as a coach. But if our young athletes turn to me for advice, I am ready to help them,” he said. Yazidi wrestler proudly notes that in different championships he succeeded in winning medals and the flag of Armenia was raised. He only regrets for one thing that he wasn’t able to win Olympic gold medal for Armenia.
