Chief of the Armenia Traffic Police hands in resignation
Major-General Artak Harutyunyan has been relieved of his duties as Chief of the Armenia Traffic Police according to his application. Armen Malkhasyan, a senior representative of the RA Police, confirmed the information and said Harutyunyan had been transferred to the reserve.
Malkhasyan added that personnel changes are a common phenomenon is the system and have nothing to do with the ongoing protest in the capital’s Baghramyan Avenue.
According to reports, there have been disagreements between senior police officers over the tense situation in the avenue on Sunday which led to the resignation of some officials.
