As only 5% of Diaspora Armenians have an opportunity to attend Armenian schools and 95 % prefer state schools we have decided to open the first Armenian school working on-line. From now on world-spread Armenians will have their on-line school," the Founding Director of the on-line college, Dr. Yervand Zorian, told a press conference on July 3.
Anyone has an opportunity to study at the new virtual educational establishment, irrespective of age, the place of residence and the level of knowledge.
The first virtual classes opened on June 14 and the work will be summed up on August 7.
Some 150 students from 22 countries attend classes.
Teaching is realized in six languages-Western Armenian, Eastern Armenian, English, Russian, French and Spanish.
The first lesson is unpaid. Students will be taught Armenian, History and Culture.
Alongside with knowledge the course will serve as a means of communication," says Mr. Zorian. The youngest member is 17 years old and the eldest - 82.
