Life in Gyumri's temporary shacks is merely unbearable: it is extremely cold in winter, hot in summer and wet in spring.
Hundreds of families living in these shacks get winter fuel from dumps and shrubbery on the outskirts of the city as they cannot afford to buy wood to heat their homes.
Representatives of the local Shirak Center NGO have visited several shacks in the district where they found people living in terrible conditions.
