Thirty Syrian Armenians today received Armenian passports by Armenia's Ambassador to Syria Arshak Poladyan at a ceremony held at the Armenian Embassy in Syria.
Congratulating the new citizens of Armenia, Ambassador Poladyan said that ‘being a citizen of the Republic of Armenia is a great honor for every Armenian.'
The Ambassador stressed that it was a historical and memorable event for the descendants of the Armenian Genocide survivors. He also wished success and peace to the new citizens of Armenia, saying the Syrian Armenian community greatly needs it today.
The process of granting RA citizenship continues; tens of other Syrian Armenians will be granted RA passports in the near future, reports the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
