During a talk with A1+ today, Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan expressed his doubts that there was an environmental trip to the Khosrov Reserve on September 18 and that traces of illegal hunting of animals included in the Red Book of Armenia were found there.
«According to our information, there was no such trip. No one asked our permission. No one received permission. Taking into account the importance of such problems, I recently ordered that those entering the Khosrov Reserve shall receive permission and have an escort, » Aram Harutyunyan said.
The environmentalists declared yesterday and circulated a video that during their trip to the Kaqavaberd section of the reserve, they found remains of dead animals such as hare, Caucasian brown bear, and Bezoar goat there. In their words, they entered the reserve unimpeded».
«Now we want to check where those actions took place, whether they took place in the Khosrov forest reserve or not... At about 8:30 am today I was informed that this area was discovered, but we need to know if this area is within the Khosrov Reserve or outside it,» the minister said.
Aram Harutyunyan instructed the management of «Khosrov Forest» State Reserve to prepare the respective materials about illegal hunting in the reserve and to submit these materials to the police.
