The first plane with humanitarian aid for victims of the civil war in Syria is expected to fly to Syria by late September.
"Help Your Brother" civil initiative has come up with the idea of loading the plane with medicines, food, and other basic commodities. The initiative has united a number of NGOs and persons from both Armenia and Artsakh.
Member of the ARFD Bureau, NA deputy Vahan Hovhannisyan and Head of «Hamazgayin» Fund Ms. Lilit Galstyan today told reporters about the achievements and further activities of «Help Your Brother» initiatie.
According to them, it is not a newly-established civil initiatuive, but, being concerned about the ongoing war in Syria, the members of the initiative decided to make their work public, in the hope of attracting more people.
"It is a social initiative and there is no point in seeing a political or party implication here," Vahan Hovhannisyan noted.
"Help Your Brother" opened a bank account at Areximbank (23800 AMD 01157620300, 23800 USD 01157620401). Lilit Galstyan said that a charity concert will be given at Aram Khachatryan Concert Hall, with SMS donations to be made, and so on. The first one million AMD have already been transferred with the assistance of ARFD.
It is planned to provide assistance not only to Syrian Armenians, but also to all vulnerable war-afflicted families living in Syria.
