Judge Karine Ghazaryan of the Court of Criminal Appeals ruled that the prisoner Arsen Artsruni sentenced to life imprisonment will remain in prison. He was sentenced to death in the 1996 high-profile "Dro' case, but in 2003 his death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment.
Artsruni was charged with instigating two different murders. Following the amendments made to the RA Criminal Code in 2011, this crime now carries 15-year imprisonment and not life sentence. For this reason Artsruni had appealed to the court to review his case.
