Galya Novents, renowned actress of Armenian cinema and theatre, has died of a heavy disease at the age 75, the Union of Cinematographers said in a statement.
Novents was People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia, a laureate of the Armenian SSR state award and a winner of international film festivals. She introduced to the Armenian cinematography the image of an Armenian woman, her sufferings and grieves. The unique outbursts of her soul laid the foundations of the actress' creative art.
The actress had at least fifty roles at the theatre and dubbed numerous characters. She played in the films, Hello, it's Me!, We are our Mountains, At this Crossroad, Old Days' Song, Nahapet (Patriarch), Gikor, White Dreams, A Piece of Sky and many others.
