Due to strong and long-lasting snow, the Southern Caucasus Railway CJSC has made some changes in the list of trips. The heavy conditions at the Jajur-Mayis section led to the delay of the departure of the Yerevan-Tbilisi train from the station in Yerevan.
The train passengers that had to leave from Yerevan at 22:35 on February 10 had to spend the night in the wagons. According to the Railway Company's press release, the passengers were provided with all necessary accessories, and there was additional heating in the wagons.
The Yerevan-Tbilisi train left from Yerevan Station at 9 a.m. this morning.
Due to heavy snowfall, the train rides from Vanadzor to Gyumri were also delayed. Everything was back on track after cleaning, but the mentioned railway section was snowy.
Southern Caucasus Railway CJSC is taking all necessary measures to clean the railway lines and organize the rides normally again. Sixty employees and representatives of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations were cleaning the railway lines with special technical equipment all night long. Cleaning continues at the Jajur-Mayis section.
