My great-grandfather, Poghos Avetisyan, was a young, well-built priest and had managed to be the godfather for 40 homes throughout his lifetime. During the migration, the Turks killed his wife, and only three of the eleven children stayed alive. One of the boys was killed at his wedding...How can such things be renounced...? Our family will never forget them. I will baptize my grandchildren and great-grandchildren with the names of my ancestors," says the great-grandchild of a Genocide survivor, Gabriel Avetisyan.
