On October 9, Holy Translators Day (Surp Targmanchats), a Holy Mass will be served at the St. Mesrop Mashtots Church of Oshakan of the Diocese of Aragatsotni region.
On this occasion, the 200-year old Shukhonts handwritten Bible 1669) will be taken to Oshakan from the Matenadaran's archive. The Shukhonts handwritten Bible has been kept at the Surp Amenaprkich and Surp Karmravor Churches for a long period of time and is considered to be sacred in Ashtarak.
According to the press service of Holy Etchmiadzin, the pilgrims will have the chance to touch the handwritten Bible and receive their blessings.
