The National Commission on Television and Radio has proposed to show erotic and violent television shows after midnight to prevent their possible impact on the psychology of adolescents. The commission has also laid down the standards for television shows containing sex and violence.
"Television stations that violate these conditions two times will receive a warning and the third time they will lose licensing," said representative of the commission Zhirair Dadasyan.
Ashot Bleyan said that this is simply aimed at keeping the people busy. "If a person is sentenced to jail for his views, this only sets limits on the activities of individual journalists and television stations," said Ashot Bleyan, referring to Nikol Pashinyan who has been sentenced to 7 years in prison.
Dadasyan doesn't exclude that there are bigger, more important issues such as the lack of professionals and talented people working in television. But he believes that the new standards will help improve the field of television.
In response to Ashot Bleyan's positive evaluation of Nikol Pashinyan, Zhirair Dadasyan argued that Nikol Pashinyan is in jail because he is a criminal.
