Prisoner escaped

The Special Investigative Service ended the preliminary inquiry on the case against an official's ineptness on the part of the policeman of the Erebuni police division. The prosecutor in charge of controlling the preliminary investigation has confirmed the accusatory conclusion.

The preliminary inquiry found out that on-duty assistant of the Erebuni division's on-duty section Mayis Petrosyan had left the on-duty hall and entered a room to relax on November 4, 2009.

As a result, prisoner at the on-duty section, robber Gurgen Asatryan was not under control and escaped. He was found two days later and sent back to prison.
Based on the evidence, Mayis Petrosyan has been charged with Part 1, Article 315 of the RA Penal Code. The case has been sent to the Kentron and Nork-Marash districts first instance court of Yerevan for examination, as reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's office.
