Traffic rules are frequently broken in Gyumri because of malfunctioning traffic lights. Drivers have to be most attentive especially during overtaking not to suffer fatal accidents.
In some central streets, in Garegin Hzhdeh and Sayat-Nova, where the red light is not working passers-by have to cross the street following the previous instruction of the traffic light. Usually strangers appear in an awkward situation because of traffic lights.
According to the City Hall new traffic lights are broken down after being replaced. The municipality promises to tackle the problem in the nearest future.
