Armenian chess master Zaven Andreasyan won his Bulgarian opponent Marian Petrov in the 8th round of the international chess tournament in the Greek Calamaria and began to solely lead the board with 6.5 points. Alongside Andreasyan was Turk Suat Atalik who lost in this round and was left behind. In the last, 9th round, Zaven Andreasyan will compete against Bulgarian chess master Julian Radulsky with white figures.

Armenia's chess player Vahe Baghdasaryan also scored his second consecutive victory in the competition. He scored 5.5 points and is now in 10th place. He needs to score a victory against his Greek opponent Ioanis Nikolaidis in the 9th round for a prize.
Unfortunately, Armenia's third competitor Aghasi Inants lost for the third time in a row and dropped from 38th to 48th place.
