Resident's of Hatsik village, Shirak Marz, refuse to cultivate potato as they have no buyers. The problem of realization increases in the village with every passing year.

Two or three years ago the villagers could hardly raise potato seedlings while today the village stores are full of seeds sold at 20-30 drams or given to cattle at best.
Villagers are in despair as they gain nothing from potato production.

"I no longer want to raise potato as I cannot afford my bare necessities with the money received from the sale," said a local.

"I gave two tones of potato to buy a lamb," said a second.

As a result, most of the villagers became unemployed and are on the verge of bankruptcy.

Along with other problems, the villagers also complain of the price of fertilizer a sack of which costs 6 800 drams. Besides, they cannot repay bank loans and if they delay payments they will be deprived of their lands.

Though the local authorities are aware of the problems they have taken no measures to address them. The villagers are going to turn to the National Assembly with their concerns.
