Azerbaijan's efforts to adopt documents and resolutions at different international forums only complicate the process of the conflict settlement and can't have an impact on our position," announced today President of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan.

"The people of Artsakh made their decision on September 2, 1991, established it during a referendum on December 10, defended Artsakh's freedom and independence during an imposed war and reaffirmed their will by adopting a Constitution on December 10, 2006," said Bako Sahakyan.

Sahakyan today participated in the events dedicated to Artsakh's independence. The head of state visited the memorial complex in Stepanakert and laid flowers at the tombs of freedom-fighters who died for Artsakh's freedom and independence and the first president of the National Assembly Artur Mkrtchyan.

The President also took part in the opening ceremonies of the memorials dedicated to two-time Soviet hero Nelson Stepanyan and the symbol of peace "Khatutik".

On the same day, Bako Sahakyan visited the military hospital in Stepanakert where he awarded the medal "For Courage" to soldier of the Defense Army Rudik Manaseryan for his injury during military operations.

Let us remind that on the dawn of August 31, the Azeri attempted a subversive attack on one of the Armenian positions stationed in Verin Chaylu village. During the attack, soldier of the Defense Army Rudik Manaseryan (born in 1991) received an injury.
