President of the Assembly of Azerbaijani Armenians, refugee Grigori Ayvazyan has decided to return to his native Azerbaijan. He has addressed the head of the UN Refugee Office in Armenia in connection to his return and to ensure his security and is now waiting for a response from the UN, said Ayvazyan during a press conference and didn't forget to congratulate everyone on Karabakh's independence.

"Recently, Aliyev has been stating that the main goal of the negotiations within the framework of the Minsk Group is the return of territories and the citizens of Azerbaijan to their residencies. I would like to disappoint Aliyev and say that the citizens who will return to Azerbaijan are not the ones whom he is expecting," said Ayvazyan.

Grigori Ayvazyan is calling on other Azerbaijani Armenians to follow him and address the UN for return. "If Azerbaijan rushes to fulfill his international commitments, perhaps I will manage to return to Azerbaijan to take part in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. If Azerbaijan refuses to meet the Armenians' legal demand to return, that will once again show the international community that Azerbaijan has no right to have pretensions over the NKR and has no place among the civilized world."

Ayvazyan has also addressed the Minsk Group Co-Chairs to inform them about the process.

Grigori Ayvazyan also stated that the number of Armenians wishing to return to Azerbaijan is as much as the number of Armenians wishing to return from Azerbaijan to the Armenian lands.
