At 3.00, July 1, Nikol Pashinian appeared at the Prosecutor General's Office with three advocates.

Editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak daily Nikol Pashinian has been underground since October 2, 2008.

He quietly entered the Prosecutor General's Office, and gave himself up. Three policemen immediately came up to Nikol Pashinian and took him to the Kentron Police Department after showing their documents. 

In the meantime, Nikol Pashinian answered journalists' questions.

"I decided to show up today as I don't want the authorities to think that I work behind the back of my supporters," said Nikol Pashinian and added, "The struggle is ongoing."

Nikol Pashinian is certain that he won't be amnestied and yet he prefers prison to underground work and believes the former political prisoners will continue the struggle in freedom.
