The Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the Armenian Parliament is to discuss on March 15 the proposal of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) parliamentary group on creating an ad hoc committee to study the March 1, 2008 post-election clashes, which left ten people killed and numerous injured in the Armenian capital.

Chairman of the Standing Committee Davit Harutyunyan suggested starting the discussion after considering all trivial issues on the agenda. Naira Zohrabyan, a lawmaker of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) did not like the idea. Before leaving the hall, she said to BHK representative Tigran Urikhanyan, "You will call me as soon as they start discussing the issue of the ad hoc committee."

"The discussion will take maximum ten minutes, Mrs Zohrabyan," said Mr Harutyunyan.

"You will try to delay the discussion as long as possible, I know you well enough, Mr Harutyunyan," replied the BHK MP.
