Constitutional Court continues the examination of the lawsuits of the presidential candidates Raffi Hovhannisyan and Andrias Ghukasyan. Presidential candidates demand from the higher instance and superior bodies to consider illegal the results of the RA presidential elections 2013.
Raffi Hovannisian's authorized representative Karen Mejlumyann today petitioned the Constitutional Court shall formulate their questions so that the public and the media will not have misconception that they came to the Court ill-prepared or CC exerts pressure. The chairman of the Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan promised that later on precise definitions will be told.
The presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasyan presented his application. He had previously stated that he would not have authorized representatives. Mr. Ghukasyan yesterday presented his written application to the members of the Constitutional Court.
In his speech Andrias Ghukasyan referred to Serzh Sargsyan's open letter to the popular singer Serzh Tankyanin, where S. Sargsyan wrote that he had organized the elections. He considers this unacceptable phenomenon, since the organization and the conduct of the presidential elections is the affair of CEC.
He complained of the attitude that there was towards of the opposition.
"What? Do you think the oppositions are dregs and they can not present appeals and defend them? It creates an atmosphere that people are beginning to consider senseless to appeal to the any superior body, since they know for certain in advance that the result will be negative".
Taking into consideration the peculiarity of our country, that the Constitution allows the government to have in its disposition the whole resource of management, according to him, all state funds may easily serve them for their narrow personal interests.
"The state should have a neutral position in the elections, but now we have what we have. As a result we have one hundred percent in favor of the candidate of the authorities".
