Anahit Bakhshyan, a senior representative of the opposition Heritage party, dreams of a day when Armenia will ever have a president elected in free and fair elections.

"If a president is elected by people, s/he will go to all kinds of negotiations," said the Heritage member.
"During the February 18 presidential election, the voter turnout in 560 polling stations totaled 80 percent but everyone knows that there are not so many people living in villages,"" she said.

Her opponent from the ruling Republican party, Sukias Avetisyan, disagreed, saying the incumbent was elected in the result of fair election.

"How could observers record any election-related violations, if there were not such. You had your proxies and members in polling stations but you did not submit a special report," he said.

Over the years, the Constitutional Court took decisions stemming from the interests of the RA authorities," she said adding that she understands Raffi Hovannisian's sacrifice for the people.

"We should properly evaluate raffis decision," she said.
