Epos expert Vardan Sedrakyan, one of the seven candidates challenging Serzh Sargsyan in the February 18 presidential election in Armenia has been placed under arrest.
On March 5, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan's Kentron and Nork Marash districts upheld the petition of the National Security Service to jail Sedrakyan for two months.
Later on Tuesday Sedrakyan was taken to the Court in connection with the assassination attempt against presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan in January, 2013.
Sedrakyan reportedly refused to testify in the NSS.
