The NGOs appealed to Ban Ki-moon

Armenian NGOs are against the transfer of the European Regional Office of UN Development Program from Bratislava to Istanbul. They sent a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki -moon.

"This concern is justified and is not subjective. We, the representatives of the civil society of the Republic of Armenia, consider it our duty to keep you informed and all UN member states of the cause of public concern", - is written in the letter according to "Voice of America ". The letter also mentions Turkey's genocide and other criminal acts against Armenians and other national minorities

"We understand, of course, Turkey's financial support has a great importance for UNDP but we hope that UN will continue to be guided by human rights' ideas and principles of justice subordinating the financial part",- Armenian part stated claimed expressing hope that the United Nations will remain faithful to its own principles and will take into consideration the risks and obstacles in the case of transferring UNDP European regional center to Turkey.
