Aram Harutyunyan: My conscience is clear

The National Assembly's ad hoc committee looking into the March 2008 post-election clashes could have done more if it had the support of certain forces, says Aram Harutyunyan, one of the members of the dissolved committee.

The chairman of the National Accord party says the committee could not disclose or identify the perpetrators of the tragic clashes; it was the work of law enforcers and investigative agencies.

"The committee worked within the realm of its liabilities. I did everything in my power. In this sense, my conscience is clear," he said.

While Mr Harutyunyan admits that the committee had shortcomings he does not feel a sense of guilt for undisclosed crimes.

"I did not act against my conscience," he said in conclusion.
