Whenever children of Armenian frontier Aygepar village hear shots from the Azeri side they take it for fireworks.
"We cheat our children and say it is New Year in order not to frighten them. We have no other option," Head of Aygepar village Andranik Aidinyan told A1+.
He says yesterday's 6-hour shooting damaged the roofs and windows of houses, with a bullet exploding inside a house.
When asked about the general mood in the village, Mr Aidinyan said, "We must be glad as we stayed alive..."
The Azeri side also fired shots in the direction of Movses village, causing material damage to the villagers. Ararat Avalyan, Head of Movses village, says they opened retaliatory fire to silence the adversary.
