Serzh Sargsyan will continue to hold presidential office in case the national struggle is not crowned with success," vice-chairman of the opposition Heritage party, Armen Martirosyan, told reporters on February 22.
However, the Heritage official believes that [Heritage Leader] Raffi Hovannisian has already led people to victory and de facto changed the government in the country.
Armen Martirosyan refrained from revealing new details from yesterday's meeting between Serzh Sargsyan and Raffi Hovannisian and advised waiting till 5 p.m. to hear the answer during the scheduled rally.
Mr Martirosyan only said ‘the third and fourth presidents of the country met yesterday.'
He also hurried to dispel the doubts of all people who believe that Raffi Hovannisian does not have clear plans.
"He has always spoken straightforwardly and said that the authorities should accept their defeat. Today people have taken to the streets to defend their votes," he said.
During today's rally, Raffi Hovannisian is also expected to speak about his meeting with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) which was held on Thursday.
If Armen Martirosyan transfers the power, new parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia. The Heritage representative also added that Raffi Hovannissian is going to hold peaceful rallies on Feb 23- 25, despite the municipality's refusal to grant permission.
