Paruyr Hayrikyan longs for attention, Hrant Bagratyan's heart has been broken by Hayrikyan and Raffi Hovannisian craves for a second round of the presidential election, Chairman of the National Accord Party Aram Harutyunyan, who dropped out of the presidential race earlier in February, said on Friday.
The former presidential contender says the current situation is not advantageous to the authorities; after the February 18 election no one will care to congratulate Serzh Sargsyan on victory, which is a serious problem for the authorities.
"I am convinced that presidential candidates Vardan Sedrakyan, Andrias Ghukasyan, Arman Melikyan and Hrant Bagratyan will not congratulate Sargsyan. Hayrikyan has always congratulated his rivals, even when he lost in a backgammon game though he did not congratulate Levon Ter-Petrosyan in 1991. Heritage Party Leader Raffi Hovannisian is ready to congratulate Sargsyan in case there is a second round of elections but the authorities will not take the risk," he said.
Aram Harutyunyan says the presidential hopefuls are not linked to the assassination attempt against Paruyr Hayrikyan. He is ridiculed to hear that presidential candidates might be arrested on charges of the shooting attack. He does not think that the two people arrested in connection with the assassination attempt. "Can a killer put glazed tiles?" he said.
