Vahan Hovhannisyan, a lawmaker of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun), will go to the polls on February 18 and vote for all candidates.
"I am going to vote for all as it is absolutely the same for me. Of course, my party has made a definite decision not to vote for the pro-government candidate, and I will obey the decision. I know that my ballot will be recognized invalid, but it does not matter," Mr Hovhannisyan told a news conference on February 8.
He says unlike the previous elections, money will not be distributed in the upcoming vote.
"The situation is painful, isn't it? During the previous elections there were people who earned money in this way. I am speaking about the people who were distributing money. It has become a serious business. We do not want to take part in this business," he said.
Vahan Hovhannisyan calls on all citizens to participate in the election.
"Though we are not participating in the event called election, we will try to do everything at the last moment to turn the voting process into a rally against the authorities. We want the authorities to understand that they cannot continue in the same way," he said.
