Armenia's incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan will be visiting presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan at Grigor Lusavorich medical centre later Friday.
Immediately after the visit, Mr Hayrikyan will talk to reporters.
Paruyr Hayrikyan, one of the eight candidates in the upcoming presidential election, was wounded in an assassination attempt on Thursday evening. He was immediately rushed to hospital with a gunshot injury to his shoulder. Today Harikyan underwent a successful surgery.
Police are searching for the gunman.
