There were people who saw the gunman who shot and wounded presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan late on January 31.
Hayrikyan's neighbours saw someone in a black coat fleeing the scene overnight. The neighbours went out on hearing Hayrikyan's calls for help.
After the incident, Hayrikyan ascended to the second floor where he fell down near the staircase. Hayrikyan's wife and daughter came out to help him with the neighbours.
"There must have been two shots. At about 11:20 p.m. we heard a dull sound like a gunshot," said one of the neighbours.
Most of them refrained from speaking before a camera. Nor did they want to introduce themselves.
They said that Hayrikyan was in a terrible condition when they saw him. He pointed to his right arm could barely speak. They he fainted on the doorstep.
The neighbours say the police came very quickly while the ambulance arrived in 20-25 minutes. The presidential candidate had lost enough blood during that period.
