Chairman of Tseghakron party, Shant Harutyunyan, today started a three-day hunger strike outside the National Academy of Sciences in solidarity with the demands of presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasyan.

Mr Harutyunyan says only a coup attempt can lead to the change of power. Harutyunyan is not going to flee even if the deadly clashes of March 2008 repeat in the country.

Andrias Ghukasyan, who has been staging an open-ended hunger strike outside the NAS building since Jan. 21, demands that the Central Election Commission invalidate the registration of Serzh Sargsyan as a presidential candidate.
